Ayom’s sound is a mix of Brazilian, Tropical, Afrolatin, and Afrolusitan played with irresistible swing. Ayom’s power, originality and poetry emerges from the weaving together of its band members They are based in Lisbon, Barcelona and Firenze and have origins in Brazil, Angola, Italy and Greece. The result is a music that transcends borders: tropical Atlantic, creating bridges between the different rhythms of semba, funana, frevo, maracatu, coladeira, congado, and more.
They played over 150 concerts in 25 countries at showcases and festivals, including WOMEX, Eurosonic, Womad, and many more.
