KMC COLLABORATIONS

It all started at KMC 2021. KMC was held online, so I never had the chance to meet NONMALT in person—but the connection was instantaneous, first spiritually, and then musically. We wanted to create something different by blending our genres, which seemed opposite at first glance: NONMALT in post-rock and me in Afro-jazz. We initially agreed to work on one track, “Colors,” and the result was great. We then decided to work on five more tracks and release a six-track EP.
After two years of working online, I travelled to Japan in April 2023 for 7 shows, and we finally met in person—and I also met Duane for the first time! The performances and the whole experience were fantastic. So we decided to make it even bigger. In 2024, we released "Colors Part 2."
I returned to Japan for a three-month tour (33 shows in 32 cities), and NONMALT traveled to Cameroon for a two-week tour.

Collaboration Projects

Interested in collaborating with artists in Japan?
Collaboration projects between Japanese and non-Japanese artists have become a primary focus at KMC; to cultivate and ensure long lasting relationships among people from different cultures.

Connections Across Continents

Each year KMC strives to gather musicians from 5 continents to share their talent, music, and native culture with Japanese artists, their fans, and with each other.
Both in person and online, KMC related events, collaborations and tours have bridged the gap between cultures like no other music event in Japan.
